is an educational scientist and is currently conducting his PhD research within the RISA-project (dealing with ritual dynamics and salutogenisis with regards to the use and misuse of psychoactive substances) at the Institute of Medical Psychology from the University of Heidelberg.
Topic 2016: Integrative drug experience of young people
In his dissertation entitled “Integrative drug experience of young people“, Simon Schmid investigates biographically relevant factors and processes to understand how young people integrate drug experiences using narrative interviews.
Some of the main questions are:
- Which challenges do young people feel faced with during the phase of adolescence? How do they deal with these? How are they supported? And: what meaning do they attribute to their experiences with psychoactive substances?
In his talk, Simon Schmid will present the first outcomes of his research.
