Mathias Bröckers

born 26. June 1954 in Limburg an der Lahn. Is a free journalist, writing mainly for the German alternative newspaper taz and online magazine Telepolis. Became well-known through his text books in which he promoted the legalisation of hemp. In 2001 he reached increasing popularity through his “de-conspiracy theories” of 9/11. From 1980-1991 he was the cultural editor and later the scientific editor of the taz.

Besides his work as a journalist, he published his first book with texts of the cabaret artist Wolfgang Neuss in 1985, as well as a documentary on the occasion of the 10-year anniversary of the newspaper taz in 1989. Within the taz, he established the page “Die Wahrheit” (engl.: “The Truth”), which is still part of the paper today. Since then he worked as columnist of the German newspapers “Die Zeit”, “Die Woche” and is author of many scientific radio broadcasts for the SFB, an independent radio station in Berlin.
